Burdened with negative representations of Black males in the media, Tonya J. Lynch set out to challenge existing narratives about the lives of Black males. She created The Black Light Project, a photography and documentary endeavor, to remind us that these sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, friends and neighbors are shining lights in their families, communities and beyond.
